A while back I created a weight loss programme for my job. Well I have decided to put myself on it and then blog the results! This way I have my readers to keep me accountable, but more importantly ya'll can read about something that really works, that a real person is doing.
So here are the rules. I weigh myself everyday, but record it every Sunday morning. I measure everything...arms, waist, gut, hips, upper thigh, right above the knees, and ankles (I have cankles!) every two Sundays and record. I also measure in centimeters...so I don't get discouraged! Every little bit helps right!
Here are my goals....I want to loose 25 lbs by March 30th, 2012. That is 25 weeks. So a pound a week is the goal. Which is actually harder than you think! And just in case you were wondering, I will be 4 lbs ABOVE the lowest healthy weight for my height. I will never be a size zero or even a 2...but I want to be healthy and I want to feel confident in my weight.
Ok the first week is attack week! This week I am changing the way my body gets its fuel source. I'm ridding my body of quick energy (sugar) and forcing it to use its fat as an energy source. Basically the goal of this programme design is to retrain your metabolism. So this week I am only eating lean meats, low fat dairy, vegetables, and 2 bits of fruit a day. This is literally going to shock your body. And you should never ever eat like this for long periods of time, this is just a kick start! This week I wont be doing any intense exercise either as we dont want to faint! You want to eat 5-6 small meals a day. I am aiming for 7am, 9:30am, 12pm, 2:30pm, 5pm, and 7:30pm. But you should pick something that suits your schedule best. Now these two things are extremely important....drink 2.5 liters of water a day and take a really good multivitamin each day. I recommend Alive! Multivitamins. I have been taking these for about 2 months and really notice the difference in energy levels.
Now two things that are not part of the programme, but what I have added for myself. I did a detox last night and plan to do one every Saturday night. I recommend Ortisan Fruit & Fibre Cube. These are great. They really clean out your digestive system. I would really really recommend you take one after the first 7 days, you are going to need it after eating all that protein! I am also taking Acai Berry plus Green Tea Supplement. I have heard so much about this that I figured I would test it myself!
One final tip for anyone trying to loose weight or maintain a healthy weight. For breakfast eat only protein. I recommend eggs or a PHD Protein Shake. It is very, very important that we don't have sugar or carbs of any sort for breakfast. This will keep you full for long and really increase you energy levels.
