My Momma's Song

My momma's birthday is today! It literally breaks my heart that I cannot be with her today to celebrate her birthday. I know she would just be like "Oh Krissy its no big deal at all! I understand." But you see it is a big deal and I will tell you why...

My mom is the most hard working, genuine, honest, kind, giving, loving, encouraging, and wise woman that I know.

If you know my mom or ever been in her house, you will know that shes a clean freak. Although the sweeper being run at 6 in the morning may have been incredibly annoying, it just shows what a work ethic she has. Honestly, who gets up at 4:30 am, cooks their husband breakfast, cleans the house, does the laundry, washes the dogs, sometimes walks the dogs, and scrubs the floors all before leaving for work at 7 am? My mom does. Then when she gets home she cooks dinner, does the ironing, visits her grandkids, talks to her daughter overseas, and weeds the flower beds all before 9 pm. Seriously shes super woman!

My mom is so genuine and brutally honest, traits that most people don't have these days. If you ask her for her opinion, you know you will get the honest opinion. I love this about my mom and I find it very annoying when people are lacking this quality. I don't understand whats the point of saying something if its not the truth??

My mom is incredibly kind. I remember living in my apartment on my own and she came to help me clean the entire thing from head to toe when Geoff came to visit. She would make me food all the time and get me wee bits and pieces to make the place my own.  If my mom can help you at all, she will go out of her way completely just to make something easier for you.

Giving....wow does my mother possess this.  Both of my parents have been far to generous to me in so many ways throughout my life. They didn't spoil me to the point that I didn't realize I had to work hard for something, but they gave me whatever they felt would benefit me.  They were always so good at finding the right balance between being generous and spoiling.

My mom is incredibly encouraging. I cant even count the number of times that I have called my mom just to hear that its going to be okay.  I would know things really are going to be okay then, because she wouldn't say it if she didn't mean it.  My mom is the first person I talk to about anything. I'm so happy to have such an open relationship with her.

My mom is crazy wise. I don't know how she does it honestly. She can carry on a conversation about anything! She can talk sport, she can talk politics, she can talk news...she can talk anything! And honestly, my mom has the absolute best judge of character of anyone I know.  She sees things for how they really are and I just really don't get how she does this. But so thankful that she can!

My mom is my best friend. I love her to bits. I respect her loads. And I think she is just down right amazing.  All I know is that if my kids feel the way about me that I do about my mom, I will feel so blessed.

Thank you mom for everything! I love you! You are amazing!
